Last night (September 20) didn’t just mark bassist Cliff Williams’ last show with AC/DC, it also marked the last show of the band’s current tour with Axl Rose replacing Brian Johnson as lead singer.

Slash just so happened to be in the audience, and he had nothing but glowing things to say about the show. Alongside a picture of AC/DC performing, he wrote, “Caught an incredible ACDC show last night with Axl at the helm. Last show of the tour. Brilliant performance. Good f—in times! iiiii]; )'” It’s not the first time he has shared such positive feelings about AC/DC’s updated lineup. In June, he and Duff McKagan caught the band with Axl fronting in London and tweeted their approval.
Even though Axl has wrapped up his duties with AC/DC (for now), he’s set to embark on another leg of Guns N’ Roses’ Not In This Lifetime Tour shortly. The band will head to South America beginning October 27 for a month of shows before taking the holidays off.
As for AC/DC, they said goodbye to Williams last night. They shared a video on Twitter yesterday in which he explained why now was the best time for him to step away and focus on other things.
