Beginning on May 7, AC/DC will hit the road for a series of shows to finish out their tour. They bring with them Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose, who will be taking over vocal duties after lead singer Brian Johnson learned he risked going deaf if he completed the tour.

As the band gears up for the remaining dates, three big names in classic rock are giving Axl their thumbs up. Alice Cooper, Nikki Sixx and Zakk Wylde have all endorsed Axl’s part in AC/DC. The band shared each rocker’s approval on their website.
“You know, his voice is absolutely perfect for that band,” Cooper said. Black Label Society frontman and former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Wylde shared that it wasn’t just Axl’s voice that would make the difference. “I couldn’t think of a better choice than Axl Rose,” he said. “Axl’s such a huge fan, So, yeah, Axl’s gonna be beyond honoured, and I think it’s gonna be awesome.”
Last but not least Sixx added, “…I think Axl’s got the right voice for that band.”
AC/DC has been rehearsing with Axl in Lisbon, Portugal, where they’ll kick off the remaining tour dates on May 7.
